Zayn x ARNETTE gives us a blast from the past with its Level 02 eyewear collection titled Retro-Town.

This drop draws upon all of the rad aesthetic elements of the ‘90s – even the shade’s names reference cult movies and epic graphics of the era. From styles like “Agent Z” to “The Professional”, glasses are constructed with colorful lenses and chunky frames, while also incorporating more futuristic tech elements such as fine-cast rim detailing and sustainable bio-lenses.

ARNETTE, ARNETTE

The creative vision for the drop was initiated by Zayn’s love of old-school video games. While it’s not disclosed whether he’s more of a Super Mario Kart or Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater sort of guy, Zayn does add that his personal favorite style from the drop, Daken, provides the perfect example for the inspiration behind the collaboration which he says is, “a mix of modern with an old-school vibe.”

While this collaboration may make some heavy references to another era, its style is still entirely distinct. Designed with glitch-pixel color blocks and lumo layers, Zayn x ARNETTE ultimately creates its own identity by combining the sweetest sentiments of the past with the slickest styles of the future.
