Why is it called Cactus Plant Flea Market?

Cynthia Lu started the brand inside of her apartment in Brooklyn, NY. Lu began thinking about the brand in 2012, when she began a job with the P.R office of the apparel company "Billionaire Boys Club", which is controlled by Pharrell. The name of the brand could be a nod towards her nickname, which is Cactus or Plant.

2015

Lu launched the CPFM website and released a collaborative t-shirt with Anti Social Social Club. Pharrell Williams, a key supporter, helped increase the brand's visibility

2018

CPFM collaborated with musicians like Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, N.E.R.D., and Kanye West for tour merchandise, notably a black hoodie with the phrase "ye must be Born again."

2019

CPFM partnered with Nike to rework the Air VaporMax silhouette, featuring a unique design that included luminescent cables, off-the-rack VaporMaxes, t-shirt scraps, lights from Payless sneakers, and garden wire. This collaboration established CPFM as a significant brand in the streetwear scene
