PizzaSlime is a Los Angeles-based streetwear brand gaining notoriety for its in-your-face viral merchandise – “micromerch” – of bold, tongue-in-cheek memes tapping into pop culture and social media trends. Poking fun at A-listers with T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and accessories emblazoned with faces of Drake, R Kelly, the Kardashians, and Oprah “you can only join the PIZZASLIME gang if u r dope, gangster, gay, straight, hot, fat, ugly, dumb, intelligent, or sick af.”
As such, the brand has been endorsed by celebrities and superstar DJs alike including Skrillex, Diplo, Flosstradamus, Kendall Jenner and Ryan Gosling to name just a few.
The brainchild of creative directors Nick Santiago and Matthew Hwang – initially only known by the nicknames Hobin and Stoveman – started as a music blog, and with the help of celebrity-merch, like the “Drake Tears” mug in 2014, was catapulted into the public consciousness.
Other notable merchandise includes the unofficial Erewhon jumpsuit promoting LA’s favorite organic supermarket in 2018, and as reports were surfacing that Oprah Winfrey was “actively thinking” about running for President of the United States in 2020, PizzaSlime joined forces with F**Jerry to put out a string of Oprah 2020 Presidential Campaign Merch line featuring hoodies, long-sleeved T-shirts, and a dad hat.
The latest to come out of the creative agency is cozy home accessories in the shape of Twitter pillows, featuring some of the most memorable tweets from your favorite celebrities, including 50 Cent’s “I can’t believe my grand mothers making me take Out the garbage I’m rich fuck this I’m going home I don’t need this shit”, Post Malone’s “get drunk nerds!!!!!!!!!!!;” and Kanye West’s “naps are awesome.”
2019 also saw an unexpected collab with America’s favorite love/hate footwear brand Crocs – the clog-shaped rubber shoe polarizing crowds since its inception in 2002.
