What We’re Saying: 1017 ALYX 9SM’s YEEZY-rivalling Mono Slip-On has landed at SSENSE in an exclusive beige colorway that reminds us strongly of Kanye West’s original Foam Runner. This pair, however, costs about what you’d expect to pay on the resell market for the controversial YEEZY sandal.
The Mono Slip-On features a fully EVA foam rubber upper with a textured forefoot and holes for breathability. The footbed is textured for added comfort and grip, and a 1017 ALYX 9SM logo is embossed on the side.
The slip-on is the latest in an ever-growing line of futuristic sandals, slides, and 3D-printed footwear. ALYX was one of the first luxury brands to enter this domain, following hot on the heels of Kanye West’s aforementioned YEEZY slides.
